Activating Your Inverter

7. Next step is to go to your inverter. Feel free to pause this video until the next step.

8. Now that you’re outside, we can continue the inverter setup. When you come out to your inverter, this is what the home screen will look like. It will display the AC power output and 4 buttons on the bottom. The first thing to do is to press the 3rd from the left button and scroll all the way over to the settings menu. Once at this screen go to the WiFi Access Point and press enter. Press enter again, this will then activate your Wifi. Please note the password on the WiFi access point screen as you will need this to connect your Fronius inverter to your internet. The password on every Fronius inverter is default is 12345678. Now head back inside to your device!

General

9. Now that we’re back inside we need to connect the tablet or smartphone to your inverter. You will need to be relatively close to your inverter with at least 2 bars of WiFi. Once you’re at this screen, type in the default Fronius password of 12345678. Once you’re connected to the inverter, go back to the home screen and open the solar web app. Select the start-up wizard. The app will redirect you to a web browser where you will proceed with the setup wizard. Click the Solar Web Wizard. Type in your system name. You can name it whatever you like. We recommend something simple like your surname. Enter your current Feed-in-tariff, you can find these on your electricity bill. Make sure all the fields are entered correctly and press forward.

Inverter

10. Make sure all the fields are correct, then type in your system size. For example, a 6.6kW system is 6,600 watts and a 5kW system is 5000 watts. Press forward. On the pop-up notification, press accept.

Network Setup

11. On the left-hand side, select the WLAN option. Now it will search for all of the local networks. On the right-hand side, select the correct one and press set. Enter your home Wifi password.

TIP: Double check that your password is correct here as Fronius will still accept the password if there is a typo. Typing in the incorrect password will cause issues further in the start-up wizard.

12. Press save. There will be a pop-up question that will ask to save these details for future use. Select your preference to continue. Press connect. Once at this screen, check that it says ‘yes’ under the internet column on the right-hand side of the screen. Now that you are connected to the inverter, you can now reconnect back to your home WiFi through settings.

Passwords

13. Once your email has been confirmed at this screen, enter the password you have just created.
