A step-by-step guide on how to turn your inverter off and back on again!
Tip: Restarting your inverter can help solve many common problems including faults and error codes that display on the inverter and the inverter not communicating with the online monitoring system.
- Faults and errors that are displayed on the inverter (take note of these before restarting your inverter in case the error continues). These may relate to external factors like grid voltage or wiring
- The system not communicating with internet monitoring (you may also need to restart your modem)
- If the system is generally not performing as it should

1. To turn off your Sungrow inverter, you will need to turn off the Main AC isolator switch.
Tip: The AC Isolator switch can sometimes be located on your switchboard. It will be labeled the ‘Main Switch Inverter Supply’.
2. After you have turned off the AC isolator you can now turn off the DC isolator for each string. Now, wait a few minutes for all the lights to go off on your inverter.
3. To turn your Sungrow Inverter back on, do the steps in reverse. Turn on the DC isolator switches. Followed by the AC isolator switch. Now, wait a few minutes for your inverter to turn back on. For more information, check out our other Sungrow videos for more help.
